For the second straight year the Martingrove Collegiate Institute (MCI) Senior Boys Basketball team has won the Toronto District School Board’s West Region title with a win over George Harvey Collegiate Institute, 75 - 59.
Expectations for this year’s season were placed at a high level after the senior boy’s basketball team reached OFSAA last year only to fall short to eventual champions, St. Matthews Secondary School, in the provincial championship semi-finals.

ExerciseToronto.Com At The Downsview Park Ball Hockey Tournament

On January 30, the annual Hockey Day in Canada, 3 on 3 ball hockey tournament in support of “Shoot For a Cure, Spinal Cord Research” took place at Downsview Park.
This year’s event saw a tournament record 118 teams participate across eight different skill levels and was considered to be a success by all parties involved.
A true passion for ball hockey was mandatory at this year’s event as the over 800 participants were forced to brave -17c weather for each of their twenty-five minute games.
